Our mission is to provide our students with a comprehensive education covering all of the topics and procedures they will encounter in their new careers. Topics covered in our course include:

  • Dental anatomy
  • Radiology
  • Dental impressions
  • Anesthesia
  • Medical emergencies

Externship Program

Our 40-hour externship program provides our students with the real-world experience they need to become confident and qualified dental assistants. The externship portion of our course allows our students the opportunity to work under the direct guidance of experienced dental professionals in a local dental office. Students are eligible to begin their externships after class 6.

What do You Get After Graduation?

Upon completion of our program you will receive your Dental Assistant Certificate of Completion and become a Dental Assistant I. This will allow you to perform basic support functions.

Additionally, students receive their BLS (CPR) certification in class through the American Heart Association.

Students will be eligible to receive a Certificate in Radiology and operate dental x-ray equipment if:

  1. They take our course AND
  2. They successfully pass our final examination. (You MUST pass our exam to operate x-ray equipment in North Carolina).
  3. If they complete #1 and #2, then they will receive a certificate in radiology.

Charlotte Dental Assistant School is licensed and regulated by the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges.

We have dedicated Career Service Representatives to help you find your dream job!

Although we encourage our students to find their own externships, our externship coordinators are here to help our students identify potential opportunities in the area and assist with applications.
